Flattley Guitar Pedals is a proudly family-run business based in the UK, where every pedal is a fusion of sonic precision and visual artistry. Each unit is hand-built, hand-wired, and housed in a meticulously hand-finished enclosure — layered with multiple coats of paint in their Gloucestershire facility — delivering unmatched performance and a distinctly personal touch.
Versatility and tonal excellence are at the heart of every Flattley design. Pedals are continuously refined through rigorous testing and re-evaluation to ensure they meet the highest standards of sound. PCBs are designed and manufactured in Gloucestershire, assembled with off-board components, and individually hand-tested before being installed into their custom-finished enclosures.
Whether part of the Platinum or Silver range, every enclosure undergoes a five-day finishing process. Graphics are created in-house by designer Phoebe Flattley: Platinum pedals feature hand-applied graphics, laser-etched aluminium control knobs, and a premium finish; Silver range graphics are UV printed in their Gloucestershire print facility.
Signature Flattley details come standard across both ranges: LED halo ring lights, sublimated brushed aluminium logo plaques, and laser-etched aluminium foot toppers — all combining to create pedals that look as good as they sound.
Flattley’s fragrance range is built to flex—whether you’re chasing bold, smoky depth or something fresh and electric. Their Signature line delivers high-impact blends with a luxe finish, while the Urban Series leans into streetwise energy with sharper, more experimental notes. Limited Editions drop throughout the year, often tied to seasonal moods or creative collabs, keeping the lineup fresh and collectible. From full-size bottles to pocket-ready atomisers and curated discovery sets, Flattley makes it easy to find your scent and switch it up when the vibe changes.

The Outlaw is the first dual pedal from Flattley pedals that combines the similarities of two of our pedals, The Ace tone booster and the Plexi overdrive. The boost section is a clean boost that also has a tone stack to allow it to be a bass boost, a treble boost or anywhere in between. The overdrive section is an FET based circuit that gives a simulation of the harmonic distortion that you would expect from a 12AX7 valve with a wide range between a sweet blues tone to a flat-out rock tone.
Each of the two halves of the pedal has its own bypass footswitch to allow the user to use boost or overdrive individually. However, the combination of these two pedal circuits is taken further by allowing the user to swap the order of the two with the flip of a single switch. This means the overdrive tone can be boosted (with additional tone shaping) in one mode, ideal for lifting level for soloing. Alternatively, the overdrive circuit can be driven by the booster which can push it into extreme compression/ distortion as the boost half of the pedal has its own tone stack that can be used to pre emphasise the signal to give a wider range of overdriven tones.
Toggle Switch: The toggle switch allows you to change the lead order of the two pedals. Toggle switch selected forward has the clean tone booster as the lead pedal, toggle switch selected to the rear has the plexi style overdrive as the lead pedal.
Plexi Drive Controls
Volume: Controls the overall output level.
Gain: Controls the amount of gain/overdrive
Tone: Controls the amount of treble/bass
Tone Booster Controls
Volume: Controls the output of the pedal from zero (use as a kill switch), unity gain is around midway and max gives quite a lift to the output. It’s second function is to act as a gain recovery stage for the tone control.
Tone: Midway the tone control is effectively flat and the setting you would use for a straight lift in volume. Either side of midway there is a sweet spot allowing tone to be a little dark (anticlockwise) or have a bit more sparkle (clockwise). Tone fully anticlockwise, the pedal works as a bass boost, fully clockwise it becomes a treble boost with the volume control being used as a gain compensation control as bass boost requires a reduce in overall gain and treble boost usually requires an increase in overall gain.
The Outlaw comes in a 1590BB Enclosure (LxWxD): 119 x 94 x 30 mm (67 x 3.68 x 1.18 inch)
Standard negative centre,-9v dc tip power supply unit/power brick required
No internal 9v dc battery function
15mm red anodised aluminium custom etched control knobs
Red halo light rings installed
The Outlaw comes with 2 red custom etched aluminium foot toppers
This edition comes in red, holographic chrome metal flake and silver paisley skulls hydro graphics.

Flattley Guitar Pedals are a family-run business situated in the UK. Each effect pedal is hand-built, hand-wired, and our enclosures are hand-finished with multiple coats of paint, all in the U.K., giving our pedals a best-in-class performance and personalized touch. Our effect pedals are as versatile and functional as possible; we constantly re-evaluate and assess our pedals to ensure continuous improvement and perfection of sound.
Each Flattley pedal is a work of art as well as a tonal delight. To get that very high standard involves a great deal of hard work and stringent processes. Our PCB design and manufacture is Gloucestershire (U.K)- based. We then assemble the PCB to the off-board components, which are then hand tested. Once we are happy that the completed circuitry produces the tonal sounds that we are known for, it is then installed into its hand-finished enclosure. Each hand-finished pedal enclosure is prepared in the same way in our Gloucestershire-based paint facility, whether it is a Platinum- or Silver-range product; this process usually takes five days from start to finish. The graphics are designed in-house by our graphics designer, Phoebe Flattley, and are then applied to our Platinum range pedals, finished with laser-etched descriptive text aluminium control knobs; Silver range effect pedals graphics are applied by UV direct printing in our Gloucestershire- based printing facility. Both product ranges have LED halo ring lights, sublimated brushed aluminium logo plaques and Flattley logo laser-etched aluminium foot toppers on the pedal switches as standard.

The “Bass Poison Ivy” pedal is based on the sort of preamp you would find on a bass amplifier. The pedal buffers and splits the incoming signal, one half is distorted by the amount set by the ‘Fuzz’ control which is then shaped by the ‘Attack’ control. ‘Attack’ is the mix between the fuzz and a further treble boosted fuzz. The two signal paths meet again at the ‘Blend’ control allowing the original signal to be mixed with the distorted version. Finally the overall level of the combined signals can be arrived at using the ‘Volume’ control. This pedal has plenty in the tank and can give the bass guitar some subtle fuzz tones but still give you a nasty growl when you need it.
The blue halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. The addition of the aluminium foot topper gives you more real estate for contact when switching the pedal on and off during quick changes when playing live.
All Flattley “Platinum Range” pedals are hand processed in our Flattley paint shop. The bare aluminium enclosure is abraded prior to painting with the etch primer. The etch primer acts as a anti corrosive layer and allows the primer to bond to the enclosure ensuring a tough resilient paint finish.
Multiple coats of base coat primer are applied which are then lightly abraded to remove any blemishes or paint speckles prior to the application of the base colour. We apply several coats of base colour until an even coverage occurs and the base colour develops rich smooth depth. Metallic holographic chrome flake is then applied using a clear inter coat which adds that all important Flattley sparkle.
The pedal enclosure is now ready to be hydro dipped in its Flattley graphics. This is the process whereby the graphics are applied using water activated film, the residual PVA film is then washed off and the enclosure is then allowed to dry naturally.
Once dried the lacquer process begins. Each “Flattley Platinum” pedal has a minimum of three coats of lacquer which are all wet sanded between coats. Once the lacquer has hardened, it is then hand polished using three different grades of polishing compounds and it then has a final polish to achieve a high gloss finish using a wool finishing pad. This process gives the smooth deep lustre finish that is inherent in all Flattley Guitar and Bass effects pedals.

The “Centurion” pedal is Flattley Guitar Pedals version of a very famous type of transparent overdrive pedal. This pedal is perfect to use on its own to get mild gain sounds that just starts to break up or go full tilt to get a full-on overdrive sound when your amp is set on the clean channel. Alternatively, you can use this pedal to boost an over-driven tube amp or overdrive, distortion, fuzz and muff pedals that will give an amazing sound, clarity and tone. This pedal also cleans up when you turn down the guitar volume without losing the overall volume levels so it is a very versatile pedal that can be used for many different types of applications.
Centurion hints and tips:
The Centurion is a transparent overdrive in the same way that a Klon Centaur is. Transparent means that it doesn’t drastically change the colour of your tone so when you turn the pedal on, it won’t sound like a different guitar tone. It will sound like the same tone, but better. My Strat is just “more Strat”… etc.
This is achieved by separating the frequency spectrum up into several bands and treating each differently. Bass frequencies are passed through untouched giving a full bottom end, treble frequencies also pass through but can be boosted by the tone control, mid frequencies go through a soft clipping circuit to give them an amplitude dependent boost to the harmonics. The gain control controls gain and volume simultaneously to vary the sensitivity and width of the mid band of frequencies.
The pedal also acts as a buffer when in standby which is an advantage if you use it as the first pedal in a chain of effects. This gives you two ways to use the Centurion…
It can be used as a clean boost for your amplifier. A booster adds some extra girth to your signal to push your amp a little harder. Set up a clean tone on your amp and experiment with the pedal. Start off with a low drive level, then gradually build the pedal gain up as you play. You’ll learn how the pedal changes as you add in more gain. If you have a tube amp, you’ll be able to hear how the pedal also begins to push your amp at a certain stage.
You can also set your amp to the point where it’s on the verge of breaking up, then use the pedal to push the amp into overdrive. This is another common way of using a transparent overdrive pedal.
Another way to use a Centurion is to stack it with other drive pedals. You can use a pedal (or your amp) to produce your main drive tone, then you can add in the Centurion when you want your tone to have a bit more sparkle or boost.
The purple halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. The addition of the aluminium foot topper gives you more real estate for contact when switching the pedal on and off during quick changes when playing live.

The “Valkyrie” Chorus pedal is our take on those 80’s flangers we all had but sadly sold at some point. Using similar delay line technology from that era, the Valkyrie pedal also has a wider range of control and depth to be able to do more than “just that chorus sound”. A classic effect derived from taking a signal through a delay line whose speed is being modulated by a low frequency oscillator and then adding that signal to the original. Simple to drive with just two controls, Rate and Depth.
Rate controls the speed of the triangle low frequency oscillator from a slow swoosh to a rapid fast Leslie and beyond. Depth controls how much deviation in delay time of the delay line is allowed. At zero, the signal is fattened but without any pitch change, as depth is increased the pitch deviation becomes more. For example, with Rate at minimum and Depth at maximum you get a very lush feel of two guitars playing together. Speed and Depth around half each is classic 80s chorus. Higher rates and depths start to stray into fast Leslie / Univibe territory and both at max can be very weird but oddly useful. Summing up, the faster the rate the less depth you will probably need but, as always, there are no rules with pedals so have fun…

The Flattley DG Fuzz V2 pedal was featured in Guitarist Magazine Issue 508, February 2024 and further details on this amazing review can be found on our “News” section under the “Home” and “About” pages. The Flattley DG Fuzz pedal was also given the “Guitarist Choice” award which we are really proud of and is a testament to the DG Fuzz pedal’s tonal flexibility and quality.
The “DG Fuzz ” is effectively a “dual pedal” consisting of a simplified version of our “The Ace” tone booster pedal coupled with a 1960s style fuzz and a typical period tone stack. The inclusion of a buffer means the pedal can be placed anywhere in a chain of pedals without changing the behaviour of the fuzz circuitry.
There are 4 controls in addition to the bypass switch that allows the effect to be switched in and out of circuit. A true bypass scheme is used, the effect is active when the halo ring is illuminated.
Some typical settings…
Fat fuzz: Grunt clockwise, Tone anti-clockwise, Fuzz and Volume to taste.
60s fuzz: Grunt midway, Tone midway, Fuzz and Volume to taste
Thin scratchy fuzz: Grunt minimum, Fuzz midway, Tone and Volume to taste.

“The Bass Ace” is our ‘bass centric’ version of “The Ace” which is a clean boost/buffer with the twist of having the Flattley “Solaris Pro” tone stack allowing it to be used as a clean boost (tone at middle), a treble boost (tone clockwise) or bass boost (tone anti-clockwise) and all stops in between.
It can be used at the front end of a signal chain to push distortion pedals harder and also pre emphasise the frequencies to be distorted.
Placed in mid signal chain, it can help pedals that are a bit dull and quiet, such as vintage pedals by locally boosting gain and tone which in turn brings them to life.
Put last in the signal chain, the pedal can increase the volume of a chain of pedals, enhancing the tone by increasing the presence of a lead tone by lifting the whole sound whilst soloing.
At the mid tone setting, the pedal does give a slight lift in tone that will make most owners smile, push it really hard with another pedal and it will give a soft clip in a pleasant way. It will also help a passive bass guitar sound beefier.
The blue halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. The addition of the large aluminium foot topper gives you more real estate for contact when switching the pedal on and off during quick changes when playing live. All Flattley “Silver Range” pedals are hand processed in our Flattley paint shop. They are etch primed first to ensure that the primer bonds to the aluminium enclosure which also provides an anti-corrosive protection layer. Multiple coats of base coat primer applied, the silver base coat colour is then applied and topped off with several coats of lacquer. Once the lacquer is hardened, it is then hand polished to achieve the smooth deep lustre finish that is inherent in all Flattley Guitar and Bass effects pedals. The graphics designed in house by our graphics designer Phoebe Flattley are applied to “Silver Range” effects pedals by UV direct printing in our printing shop.

The idea behind the Solaris Pro was to create a simple fuzz box that would do a few tones well, a “fuzz without fuss”. To this end the gain is pre-set to max, the volume control of your guitar can be used to change the tone so don’t forget to experiment. However, for the working musician we decided to add the sustain control and swap out the Norm/Norm+ toggle switch for a boost foot switch to make it a little more functional for live show applications. Hence the Solaris Pro version was born and comes standard with two halo light rings fitted.

The Nirvana guitar analogue delay pedal. This pedal has a warm tone and a deep rich sound which is great for the guitar. There are four control knobs allowing you to set your perfect tone, level, delay and repeats. The Nirvana can give you up to 620ms of delay, minimum delay is approximately 50ms. The amount of feedback has been chosen to just allow the delay to go into infinite repeats to give the pedal the ability to produce spacey abstract effects as well as normal delay effects.
The purple halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. The Flattley Revolution pedal was recently featured in Guitarist Magazine Issue 474 August 2021 and further details on this amazing review can be found on our “News” section under the “Home” and “About” pages. The Flattley Revolution pedal was also given the “Guitarist Choice” award which we are really proud of and is a testament to the Revolution pedal’s tonal flexibility and quality. The Revolution then went on to be awarded “Gear of Year” in Guitarist Magazine January, 2022 edition. You can also watch the Guitarist Magazine demo video of the Revolution pedal on its product page.
The “Revolution” dynamic overdrive pedal is a powerful and very flexible overdrive pedal. It’s based on a tube screamer style circuit but on “steroids” giving you smooth creamy overdrive tones full of depth and reactive sounds depending on your style of playing. It comes installed with a three-way toggle switch which gives you complete overdrive tonal flexibility when you need it. With the switch in the centre position the overdrive circuit runs through an Op amp integrated circuit, the switch in the upper/forward position the circuit runs through silicon diodes, the switch in the rearward/aft position runs through LED diodes providing three different types of overdrive clipping. The Revolution gives you three separate overdrive pedals in one box and is one of my personal all-time favourite pedals.

The Flattley Wah is based on the principles of several classic Wahs that use a filter known as the “twin t resonant filter”. During development, several genuine classic Wahs were analysed to determine the characteristics that give old Wahs “that sound”. The Flattley prototype Wah pedals were tested by several experienced users of older classic Wah pedals until they were satisfied that the sound was right.
The Flattley Wah is a very tight, articulate and vocal sounding Wah pedal which can handle as much gain as you want depending on your style of music. It also remains very tonal if being used clean, giving you an awesome individual expressive tone that will wow your audiences.
The Flattley Wah comes with a 100K potentiometer installed which was designed and manufactured to exacting Flattley specifications. A standard feature with the Flattley Wah is the signature blue LED light plate which gives you full visibility on stage of the pedal’s status.
The Flattley Wah comes in the “Oil Slick” hydro dipped graphics which will add some amazing artwork to any musician’s pedal board. Which one will you choose.

The “Bass Valkyrie” Chorus pedal is our bass centric take on those 80’s flangers we all had but sadly sold at some point.
The blue halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. Metallic holographic chrome flake is then applied using a clear inter coat which adds that all important Flattley sparkle.
Once dried the lacquer process begins. Each “Flattley Platinum” pedal has a minimum of three coats of lacquer which are all wet sanded between coats. This process gives the smooth deep lustre finish that is inherent in all Flattley Guitar and Bass effects pedals.
At this point the Bass Valkyrie graphics are then applied by UV direct printing process giving a very sharp clear image of the original hand drawn Valkyrie image.

Violet (Tremolo)
The “Violet” pedal is an easy to use tremolo pedal with a classic style designed circuit and gorgeous warm tones. This effect pedal comes with three controls for volume, rate and depth plus a toggle switch which selects between triangle and square wave-forms which allows you to make the effect sound more cutting. When the rate control is backed off and slowed down, Flattley have explored some of the slower speed tones which emphasize the chorus style tones and Lesley “style” speaker effects.

The “Bass Chief” is an op amp based distortion pedal specifically designed for bass instruments, however you can use it for guitar if you wish. The pedal buffers and splits the incoming signal, one half is distorted by the amount set by the ‘Gain’ control which is then further shaped by the ‘Bass’ and ‘Treble’ controls. The two signal paths meet again at the ‘Blend’ control allowing the original signal to be mixed with the distorted version. Note that at extreme settings of the tone controls a further range of tones can be found using the ‘Blend’ control to cancel parts of the original signal. The overall level of the combined signals can be arrived at by using the ‘Volume’ control.

The “Poison Ivy” octave harmonic fuzz pedal is modelled on a 60’s/early 70’s style Super Fuzz/Uni Fuzz but with some modern adjustments to improve the sound qualities. The poison ivy is based on germanium diodes to give that vintage era fuzz sound. The 2-position tone network switch offers a choice between the full signal and a scooped signal that is more gritty.
The expander control takes the fuzz sound from a wide fuzz sound to a completely over the top Velcro ripping tight fuzz sound, providing some great octave tones. There is no holding back with this fuzz pedal, it’s awesome and it’s almost like having two completely different fuzz pedals in one box.
The blue halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages.

The idea behind the Bass Solaris was to create a simple fuzz box for bass guitar that would do a few tones well, a “fuzz without fuss”. To this end the gain is pre-set to max, the volume control of your guitar can be used to change the tone so don’t forget to experiment. However, for the working musician we decided to add the sustain control and swap out the Norm/Norm+ toggle switch for a boost foot switch to make it more functional for live show applications. Hence the Bass Solaris version was born and comes standard with two halo light rings fitted.
The blue halo light rings installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. “The Ace” is a clean boost/buffer with the twist of having the Flattley “Solaris Pro” tone stack allowing it to be used as a clean boost (tone at middle), a treble boost (tone clockwise) or bass boost (tone anti-clockwise) and all stops in between.
At the mid tone setting, the pedal does give a slight lift in tone that will make most single coil guitar owners smile, push it really hard with another pedal and it will give a soft clip in a pleasant way. It will also help a passive bass guitar sound beefier, give great late night jazz tones on humbucker guitars with the tone fully anticlockwise, nice funky single coil sounds with the tone setting just past middle.
